http://www.gotmatrix.com/shop/customer/promote.php

As I said in the previous post on "Liabilities of Gotmatrix", Gotmatrix effort in promoting itslf is incredible! It reminds me of direct sale or MLM scheme where every members has to grab extra members to buy stuff in order to survive.

For MLM, the effort of individual is to get their own downline, so there is stronger insentive to motivate individual to do this 'slavery' job.

Unfortunately, the promotion tactics on Gotmatrix do not generate self-motivate incentive at all. Getting one more customer to the site doen't translate into more 'downline' in YOUR list(s). So, the promotion tactic of gotmatrix will eventually hit the wall because of the inherited "free rider" problem, i.e. everyone sit back to wait for someone else to do the dirty job.

With all this limitation, I am still pretty impressed by some selfless supporter going out to eBay, Yahoo, or even make flyers (Check the link and you will know what I am saying) to attract new customers. I hope these diehard supporters know that their efforts do not automatically translate into more 'free gifts'.

Well, this selfless sense of mission really struck me. Matrix said that they are not MLM because individual do not need to get their own downline. What I see in Gotmatrix is that it is worst (or less ethical --because of free rider moral hazzard) than MLM because the effort of individual do not really pay off directly...:(

Remember the Gotmatrix adv that I found on ebay? At first I only suspect that it is a gotmatrix advertisement because all the prices of the electronics match those on gotmatrix. Later I got confirmation from seller that it is an gotmatrix adv.

This morning, I found Greg's OWN endorsement of this auction! How? Compare the ebay auction with the promotion with the template on gotmatrix! It is the same!

http://www.gotmatrix.com/promotion/matrixtemplate.htm

My question for Greg is, why didn't you mention EBOOK on your endorsed promotion template? If you are selling ebooks, why it is not showing on this promotion template? Isn't misleading? ..:D

Since I am already guilty of targeting Gotmatrix, I might as well do more research on this most 'successful' pyramid-matrix scheme on the net! ..:D

If you have nothing better to do like me, you can entertain yourself with all the promotion info (template, gotmatrix promo ebook and flyers).

You will find the name of all the popular electronics EXCEPT one crucial item -- the ebook! NO WHERE in all the promo info (not only the template)mention ebook at all!! It's all about cheap electronics! None of the promo FAQ mention 'ebook'! This is unbelievable! These are great evidences about how gotmatrix (and other matrices as well) mislead newbies to donate to their donkey lists. In fact, the larger it get, the more it needs to hide the fact about they are selling wortheless ebooks. That's the only way to survive.

Exampe: on flyer

and that is why it is a scam...he is misleading unsuspecting people to buy something that they really have no idea of what they are getting into.

He preys on the fact that most people think..."what the heck, it's only $25?"

matrix owner = loser

That template that Greg has is totaly NOT ALLOWED on Ebay and would be canceled no matter what category it is listed in.

They are just grabbing a straws to boost sign ups.

Thanks peterdragin, the guru of ebay watchdog, for confirming that gotmatrix template is not allowed on eBay.

I am often curious about their "innovative" way to go around eBay's listing rule to promote their scam sites? So, anyone has any ideas about how they do that?

Selling gotmatrix promo ebook? lol. What else?

As for as I know, they have only one tactic -- guerrilla tactics..:D

Gotmatrix owner and promoters are mobilizing as many members as possible to put out illegal advs on eBay, Yahoo.. and even making flyers to polute the campus or streetscape! They thought they can outnumber (READ: not outsmart) eBay watch dogs in their mass guerrilla hit and run tactics.

They are wrong. They forgot that eBay/Yahoo watch dogs are also growing in numbers, and they are smarter...:D

Thank you everyone for the info. I was at first curious about this Gotmatrix.com. So I decided to pay $1.99 for an auction to get the infomation about how to get a Xbox for 25$. But as I have known, there are many scams out here on the Internet, I spent some time looking around and ended up here. Thanks to you all, now I finally know what the matrix really is and whether or not joining it.:)
By the way, on your last post, you said something eBay watchdog. What is that? Is it a job or is it just a title?
Thanks:confused:

Yes, that template is not allowed on eBay. The ads are misleading just like everything else in the world. Most of those ads rely on the "FINE PRINT". Be careful when purchasing that stuff.
