Another Ebay Auction Tip
« Thread started on: Oct 20th, 2003, 02:30am »

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This was on another board and I though I would paste it here...... Its a good idea and it will work.....

This part isnt from me but from another poster:

HOW TO PLACE ADS ON EBAY!
If you are a site owner or just want to help yourself cycle, this is for you! This little tidbit will help you defeat Ebay! First off this is not to help you sucker anyone into paying for a link. You will make ZERO money off of this info! This will only help you advertise a site and cycle, which is what you really want anyway. Also if you advertise for a site that pays commision you might make a few pennies.
This is how it works:
1) First pick an item you want to advertise. (It is best if you pick an item you are waiting to cycle on)
2) Have an ebay sellers account. (This is a must)
3) Now set up an email account with an autoresponder. (Yahoo has one)
4) Make sure your ebay account is sending customer questions to that email account!
5) Now place an ad for for your item. (I will use the PS2 for an example)
6) Start the auction at $0.01 with no gallery and no reserve. (Ad will cost $0.30 for 7 days)
7) Make the description of the item short.
8) Now make the bulk of the ad an advertisement for where you got the PS2.
9) Set up your autoresponder message to say something like this:

QUOTE
Thank you for your interest in my PS2, however I am not ending this item early or taking bids outside of Ebay. However if you would like to get a PS2 really cheap you should try www.PS2-MATRIX.biz they are only $25.00 to enter there matrix. Now it might take a little longer to get it, but at prices that low isn't it worth the wait? Or do like I did and buy several, and sell the extras for a profit! A big profit! Or you can get one for every room in your house! ETC.......................(Ad more as you see fit, you might want to ad they are new, not refurbished, free shipping etc...) MAKE SURE YOU PUT AN ACTIVE LINK WITH YOUR REFERRAL CODE IN THE EMAIL!

10) Now also set your about me page as an advertisement for this site also! You can make it the same as the auto responder minus the first line!
11) Now the last step is done on day 7!
12) END YOUR AUCTION EARLY! THIS DOES NOT VIOLATE EBAYS RULES. NOW YOU JUST GOT 6 DAYS OF ADVERTISING FOR $.030! Plus if your an affiliate you might have made some money off of your link!

Here is a sample AD:

QUOTE
BRAND NEW PS2 FOR SALE! UNOPENED! THIS IS A NEW MODEL AND IS NOT A REFURBISHED UNIT!
I am selling this unit with no reserve! It is still sealed and in perfect condition! Thank you for bidding!
WHY AM I SELLING SO CHEAP?
I got this PS2 from WWW.PS2-MATRIX.COM for only $25.00! Actually I got 3 of them and since that is one more than I need I decided to sell the third one and make a profit! That's right I received 3 PS2's for only $75.00 and they shipped them for FREE! These are brand new units! IF you want to learn more about how you can get a PS2 for only $25.00 check out my ABOUT ME page!

(Ok now you might want to elaborate some more but that is up to you. You should make your ABOUT ME page like the home page of the site your advertising. EXPLAIN how the matrix works, cost etc.....)

One last note EBAY does not like live links so it's up to you if you want to take a gamble and place a live link! Honestly I usually do place a live link with my affiliate code in it. If ebay shuts it down I repost and remove the live link, but it's up to you! That should be about it! Good Luck!

Okay and heres the response I added just for a little more help:

You know another thing you can do with your idea, is make the auction for pre-approved bidders only... Its free to do and before anyone can bid they must email the seller first and have the seller add their name to the pre approved bidder list...

This way everyone has to email you first..... Then you can use your same email idea as above and just close the auction early.......

This way no one is bidding or paying for anything, since no one can bid unless you add their userid to your pre approved list and you dont have to do that. This way no ones getting scammed on ebay buy paying high prices to recieve information, or a link.....

Perhaps we at Matrix Watch could send this one off to eBay and see what they think about it.

Also, I think it is about time that the conforums company knew about what 10dlaptop is using their services for. Anyone who wants to send a report may contact them via http://www.conforums.com/

One lesson I learn from all the matrix stuff is that pro-matrix people are not stupid. They don't bother any more about "ETHICS", "LEGIT" or "RULE". All they care is how to find loop hole on eBay and force all there members to "SELF-HELP" and "SELF-PROMOTING" their own downline. The closer the matrix-sites reach the end of their life cycle, the more they reveal their true color -- pyramid scheme.

All the talk about 'no promoting necessary' are all LIES, LIES and LIES.

Luckily, anti-matrix people are not stupid either ..:D We should also invent new methodology to fight back.

After some observation on eBay, I discover a couple of anti-matrix people actually bid on the matrix adv. and leave negative feedbacks for the matrix info seller. I think that might be another way to warn the misinformed eBayers to stay away. Just my 2 cents.
